Ring the Alarm

Why is it so hard to get up early to do a workout? There are NUMEROUS logical reasons why I should be working out in the mornings:

1. Aidan is still asleep, therefore I will not be interrupted by a tiny person demanding milk, juice, attention, etc.

2. I can start my day with the feeling of already accomplishing something. Looking into my own personal history, starting with a workout leads to making better food choices.

3. If I would just get up and DO it I would be done for the day! It wouldn't be on my mind all day long wondering when to fit in my workout. Also, I would clearly have less time to think up excuses.

So we come back to the problem of not getting out of bed to do the workout. It's like Early Morning Emily is completely irrational. Alarm clocks goes off, Early Morning Emily immediately resets it for an hour later and goes back to sleep. By the time I wake up an hour later Rational Emily is like "WHY DO I DO THIS?"

Any tips on morning workouts? Because ideally, that is what I want to happen.

I'm with you on the getting up early. I normally hate it, but when I have something specific to get up for it makes it easier (like when I did the bootcamp class that started at 6am). Or do you have anyone you know who normally wakes up as early as you do. You could ask them call you when they wake up. I don't know. Other than that, my only advice is just do it. Just get up. Don't let early morning emily lure you back into the cozy warm bed for another hour. But I know, easier said than done. We've been getting up a littler earier to fix breakfast. Its only day 2 and I was SO TIRED and didn't want to get up. But please, be sure to let me know if you figure out the magic trick. It would be much better for me to workout in the mornings too.
